XRP Ledger Delays Upgrade After Bug Found in Batch Transactions
Vet, an XRP Ledger validator, informed the community on Feb. 20 that a bug was discovered in batch transaction handling along with an issue affecting another fix amendment, forcing delays for both. The affected amendment, fixBatchInnerSigs, is included in the latest XRPL release; maintainers have paused rollout to avoid activating the change network-wide until a corrective patch is available and validators can verify the fix.
The delay matters because XRPL amendments require coordinated validator support to flip safely—deploying a flawed amendment could lead to transaction regressions or consensus instability. Node operators, exchanges and indexers are watching for an updated build and official guidance; no new activation timeline has been announced. Stakeholders are being urged to hold off on auto-upgrades until the community confirms the patch and testing is complete.
