Bybit to Launch Retail Bank Accounts with Personal IBANs in February

Published at 2026-01-29 09:30:11

Bybit says its new “My Bank” accounts will be available to retail users starting in February, providing personal IBANs, instant access to fiat balances, multi-currency transfers and the option to trade crypto under a user’s legal name. The feature aims to simplify deposits and withdrawals and reduce the friction between bank accounts and exchange wallets by giving customers dedicated banking identifiers.

The move further blurs lines between exchanges and retail banking, positioning Bybit as a hybrid platform that can accelerate on‑ramp adoption and streamline everyday fiat flows for crypto users. For customers this could mean faster settlements and clearer compliance trails; for competitors and regulators it raises questions about licensing and oversight. Overall, the rollout is a notable step toward integrating traditional payment rails with crypto services, which may boost retail activity if adoption and regulatory alignment follow.
