SEC Seeks Feedback on Listing Options for Grayscale Multi-Asset Crypto ETF
The Securities and Exchange Commission is reviewing an application to list options contracts on a multi-asset crypto ETF sponsored by Grayscale and has opened a public comment period to gather stakeholder feedback. The agency said it is assessing the unique risks posed by crypto-related derivatives — from valuation and custody complexities to market manipulation and surveillance challenges — before deciding whether the options market can be reliably supported.
Approval would give investors additional tools for hedging and income strategies and could deepen liquidity and price discovery for a broader set of digital-asset products. At the same time, the outcome could set an important regulatory precedent for how derivatives tied to crypto ETFs are overseen, shaping institutional participation and exchange oversight practices going forward.
