BlackRock CEO Backs Bitcoin, Urges Rapid Tokenization of Assets

Published at 2025-12-07 22:45:07

BlackRock’s CEO on Dec. 7, 2025 reiterated confidence in bitcoin (BTC) as a strategic, long-term hedge against mounting fiscal and macro pressures, while simultaneously pushing tokenization as the next major market transformation. He presented tokenized assets — securities, bonds, and funds represented on distributed ledgers — as tools to improve liquidity, reduce settlement times and broaden access for institutional investors.

The endorsement from the world’s largest asset manager could accelerate institutional demand for BTC and spur development of custody, compliance and token-issuance infrastructure. If adopted at scale, tokenization would change market plumbing and product design, but it also raises regulatory and operational questions that must be resolved before widespread rollout. For crypto markets, the move signals maturing institutional engagement and a potential shift in how traditional assets are packaged and traded.
