XRP Ledger v3.1.1 Disables Batch Amendments to Enhance Safety

Published at 2026-02-24 10:00:12

The XRP Ledger Foundation posted that software release 3.1.1 is now available and explicitly disables the Batch feature along with an older related fix amendment. The change was pushed to prioritize network safety and to remove functionality that could introduce disagreement among validators. The update was announced on Tue, 24 Feb 2026.

This is primarily a defensive move: disabling potentially problematic amendments reduces the chance of consensus issues or unexpected behavior while longer-term fixes are developed. Validators and node operators are expected to adopt the new client to stay in sync; developers and users should monitor RPC endpoints and ledger behavior for any follow-up patches. The release signals continued maintenance focus from the XRPL team to keep the protocol stable as it evolves.
