Ledger Adds Etherlink Integration and Native Staking for Tezos

Published at 2026-01-30 06:45:09

Ledger has extended its support for the Tezos ecosystem by integrating Etherlink, the EVM‑compatible smart rollup, into both Ledger signers and the Ledger Wallet. The update lets users interact with Etherlink directly through Ledger’s tooling and enables native staking on the rollup in addition to existing Layer 1 XTZ staking. For users and validators, this reduces the need for third‑party intermediaries and keeps private key custody on hardware devices.

The move strengthens Ledger’s role in Tezos’ growing stack and could accelerate activity on Etherlink by lowering the onboarding friction for hardware‑wallet users. For XTZ holders and DeFi participants, native staking on an EVM‑compatible rollup means easier access to new staking yields and smart contract ecosystems while maintaining Ledger’s security guarantees.
