On October 1, 2025, UBS and Chainlink announced a successful demonstration of on-chain connectivity that allows financial institutions to utilize Swift messages for on-chain token transfers. This innovative technology operates within the Chainlink Runtime Environment, providing seamless access across multiple blockchains without requiring changes to existing financial infrastructure.

The pilot project was carried out by UBS Tokenize, UBS's dedicated tokenization unit, which executed tokenized fund subscriptions and redemptions using standardized ISO 20022 Swift messaging. Swift messages effectively triggered workflows within the Chainlink Digital Transfer Agent (DTA), optimizing the management of tokenized funds.

This development builds upon previous advances such as the Monetary Authority of Singapore's Project Guardian in 2024, which emphasized the importance of tokenized asset frameworks.

The integration of Swift messaging with Chainlink's blockchain capabilities offers notable benefits including increased operational efficiency, automated compliance processes, and enhanced transparency in financial transactions.
