Broadridge and Galaxy Launch First Onchain Proxy Vote for U.S. Public Company
Broadridge Financial Solutions is moving proxy voting onchain in a pilot with Galaxy Digital, which will use Broadridge’s onchain governance platform for its May 2026 annual shareholder meeting. Broadridge says this deployment makes Galaxy the first U.S. publicly traded company to conduct a shareholder vote onchain, marking a tangible step from experimental pilots toward mainstream corporate governance use cases.
The experiment matters because it tests whether distributed ledgers can speed vote tabulation, reduce intermediaries and improve transparency for both institutional and retail investors while maintaining regulatory compliance. A smooth May vote would likely encourage other issuers and custodians to explore onchain mechanics, but wider adoption will hinge on interoperability with existing proxy infrastructure and clear oversight from regulators. Broadridge’s move signals growing confidence among legacy market infrastructure providers to integrate blockchain into core services.
