Animoca Brands Secures Dubai Crypto License for Middle East Expansion

Published at 2026-02-16 07:30:16

Dubai’s regulator granted Animoca Brands a crypto services license on Feb. 5, enabling the blockchain gaming and Web3 investor to offer services to institutional and qualified investors under the supervision of the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA). The permit clears a regulatory hurdle for Animoca to operate within Dubai’s framework and formally extend its commercial reach into the Gulf market.

The license is significant because it gives Animoca a compliant foothold in a region that has been actively courting crypto firms and institutional capital. For investors and partners, VARA approval reduces regulatory uncertainty and may accelerate local partnerships, fundraising and distribution of Web3 products. The move underscores Dubai’s growing role as a regulated hub for digital-asset businesses and marks a positive step for Animoca’s regional strategy.
