Interactive Brokers Launches 24/7 Stablecoin Funding in 170 Markets

Published at 2026-01-17 02:45:11

Interactive Brokers is rolling out global, 24/7 funding via stablecoin deposits to customers in 170 markets, the firm said on Jan. 16, 2026. The service lets clients top up accounts outside traditional banking hours and settle funds faster, reducing cross-border friction and shortening the time between funding and execution.

The rollout reflects a broader trend of traditional brokerages embedding digital-asset rails to improve capital efficiency and customer experience. For traders, faster on-ramps mean quicker access to strategies that depend on speed; for firms and regulators, it raises questions around custody, compliance, and jurisdictional oversight. While adoption will hinge on operational controls and local rules, the change underscores how stablecoins are increasingly used as plumbing between fiat systems and investment platforms.
