Aave Labs Approved for Zero-Fee Stablecoin On-Ramp in Europe

Published at 2025-11-13 16:46:34

Aave Labs said it has received formal approval from Ireland's central bank under the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCAR) framework to operate a zero-fee stablecoin on-ramp across Europe. The authorization covers fiat-to-stablecoin conversion services and indicates that Aave's onboarding and compliance processes meet European regulatory expectations.

The move matters because removing fees reduces friction for new users and could accelerate stablecoin adoption for payments, savings and DeFi activity. It also marks a regulatory milestone for infrastructure providers seeking mainstream access in the EU. Market participants will watch user uptake and any downstream effects on the AAVE ecosystem as the service rolls out.
