Tether has led an $8 million investment in Lightning-powered payments company Speed1, which processes roughly $1.5 billion a year for about 1.2 million users by settling transactions over Bitcoin’s Lightning Network using USDT. The funding is intended to broaden global settlement rails and accelerate mainstream adoption of Lightning and stablecoins for everyday payments.
