Truist Launches Crypto Trading for Private Wealth Clients

Published at 2026-02-25 18:16:01

Truist’s private wealth division is adding cryptocurrency exposure for its clients, the bank announced on Feb. 25. Truist Investment Services financial advisors can now offer spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds backed by Fidelity and BlackRock that are registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, providing a regulated route to BTC for eligible clients.

The change matters because it brings crypto into standard advisor-led portfolios, widening distribution to high-net-worth and private wealth customers and signaling growing mainstream acceptance among U.S. wealth managers. By limiting the offering to SEC-registered spot bitcoin ETFs, Truist is leaning on established providers and regulatory approvals to give clients familiar access to bitcoin while keeping product choice narrowly focused for now.
