Shift4 Launches 24/7 Stablecoin Payments on Polygon for Merchants

Published at 2025-12-23 16:30:13

Shift4 has rolled out round‑the‑clock stablecoin settlement on the Polygon network, allowing merchants to accept and settle transactions in USDC, USDT, EURC and DAI at any time. The integration removes reliance on bank processing windows by routing settlements on‑chain, which can shorten the time between sale and available funds and reduce exposure to fiat rails during off hours.

For merchants, the change promises faster access to liquidity and another option to manage volatility and payment routing. For the Polygon ecosystem it could mean increased on‑chain volume and utility, with potential knock‑on interest in MATIC as payment rails expand. The update underscores continued merchant-focused innovation around stablecoins and digital rails as an alternative to traditional card and ACH flows.
