Aave's native GHO stablecoin launches in Ireland under MiCAR regime

Published at 2025-11-14 15:34:43

Aave Labs on Nov. 14, 2025 rolled out cost-free on- and off-ramping for its native stablecoin GHO and select tokens in Ireland, operating under the EU’s MiCAR framework. The implementation provides euro rails for deposits and withdrawals without direct fees, positioning GHO for easier fiat access within a regulated EU jurisdiction.

Why it matters: operating under MiCAR gives market participants clearer compliance signals and could lower friction for retail and institutional users to adopt GHO. Cost-free ramps reduce barriers to entry, potentially increasing on-chain utility and liquidity for the Aave ecosystem. Traders and holders of AAVE and GHO should watch for changes in flows and liquidity as this regulated, fee-free corridor develops.
