Cardano will adopt the institutional-focused LayerZero protocol, providing cross-chain access to more than 400 tokens and about $80 billion in assets — including USDCx — as part of its institutional expansion. Hoskinson confirmed the deal, and ADA climbed roughly 4% on the news.

LayerZero is said to be launching a high-performance blockchain called "Zero," backed by Citadel and ARK Invest. The development reportedly includes Citadel’s first publicly known purchase of ZRO tokens and bolsters LayerZero’s strategic position, even as ZRO saw early price swings and an announcement video was briefly posted then removed.

Tether has invested in and teamed up with LayerZero Labs to adopt its Omnichain (OFT) interoperability protocol, allowing USDT to flow across multiple blockchains, enhancing cross-chain liquidity, practical stablecoin use cases, and emerging 'agentic finance' applications.
