Rwanda’s central bank warned that using the Rwandan franc for cryptocurrency transactions is illegal, singling out Bybit for its unauthorised listing of FRW/RWF on the exchange’s peer-to-peer platform. The regulator reiterated that crypto may not be used for payments, conversions or trading under current law.
