Philippines’ Fastest-Growing Digital Bank Launches Crypto Services with Alpaca

Published at 2025-12-08 05:45:10

Philippines’ fastest-growing digital bank has started offering crypto trading and custody within its mobile app, adding Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL) and additional tokens through a secure integration with U.S. fintech firm Alpaca. The rollout, announced Monday, lets customers transact and hold digital assets without leaving the bank’s interface, using Alpaca’s trading rails and API infrastructure for order execution and market access.

The launch broadens retail access to crypto in a market noted for high remittance flows and growing retail interest, and could accelerate mainstream adoption among app-first consumers. It also raises the stakes for local banks and fintechs building integrated investment services. Users should still consider volatility and custody choices, while observers will watch regulatory responses and uptake to gauge how quickly the service scales.
