Paxos Acquires Fordefi to Expand Institutional Crypto Custody

Published at 2025-11-25 15:30:52

Paxos said on Tuesday that it has acquired Fordefi to deepen its custody capabilities and better serve institutional clients. The move folds Fordefi’s custody technology and engineering team into Paxos' regulated platform, aiming to enhance secure storage, asset support and enterprise-grade key management across a wider set of digital assets.

The acquisition underscores Paxos’ strategy to build out end-to-end infrastructure beyond its existing settlement and tokenization services, and could help it compete more directly with established custody providers. Paxos noted the integration will proceed alongside any required regulatory approvals; for customers and counterparties, the deal signals a push toward more consolidated, regulated custody options for institutional crypto exposure.
