Pi Network Files for EU MiCA Recognition, Seeks Formal Legal Status

Published at 2025-11-21 19:15:15

Pi Network officially submitted its application under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework on November 21, 2025, seeking formal recognition and legal status for Pi Coin (PI) across EU member states. The filing aims to align Pi with MiCA’s rules on transparency, consumer protection and market conduct, positioning the project to operate within Europe’s first comprehensive crypto rulebook if regulators grant approval.

Approval could open regulated exchange listings, custody and payment integrations, and greater institutional engagement in the region, reducing a key source of uncertainty for users and developers. The submission itself is an important milestone, but MiCA authorization can take months and may carry conditions — investors and service providers should watch regulator feedback and implementation details as the review proceeds.
