Via AIP-137, Aptos proposes offering an optional NIST-standard quantum-resistant signature scheme (SLH-DSA-SHA2-128s) for newly created accounts. The change aims to guard against projected mid-2030s quantum threats and lessen the risk of forged transactions, while leaving existing accounts unaffected.
