BNB Chain to Shut Down Multi-Sig Wallet, Directs Users to Safe Global

Published at 2025-11-12 22:24:38

BNB Chain announced it will shut down its existing multi-sig wallet and guide users to Safe Global (formerly Gnosis Safe) as the supported multisig solution. Users running multisig setups or holding funds in the legacy contract are being asked to migrate assets and ownership configurations to Safe Global ahead of the planned deactivation to ensure uninterrupted control and transaction capabilities.

The transition is pitched as a security and interoperability upgrade, bringing improved cross-chain compatibility and modern key-management features to projects and validators on BNB Chain. Any wallets not migrated before the deactivation deadline will no longer have multisig functionality, so users should consult official BNB Chain channels for the migration guide and timeline and move funds promptly to avoid service disruption.
